Diamonds and rubies

Diamonds and rubies to the goddess of the night
Every side shows beauty, and dazzling delight
Emotions swirl inside me, like leaves in a hurricane
Every fibre screams “I’ll never see her face again.

Broken bottle falls on the pavement like rain
Blood colours glass, as I cry out in pain
Diamonds and rubies lay spread all around
With the last of my strength I push up from the ground

Diamonds and rubies, light yellow then red.
And light up my body, lying there dead.
The ambulance people put me in a bag
We wont have this date now, man that’s a drag.
